Carlsbad Flower Fields

We went to the flower fields today. I'll have to figure out how to put up pictures to make this post worthwhile. It was a fairly good time. Most of the kids were whiny and cranky, but they seemed to settle down when the flower viewing was done and we were back on their turf at the playground they have there. They had a good time throwing sand at each other, sharing snacks, etc.

When we were getting ready to leave, I told Athena to get in her stroller. Bad mommy award went out to me then. The stroller was parked on a little hill and toppled over as she climbed in. Athena was crying, but not because she was hurt. It was because she was dirty and maybe a little scared. My loud gasp scared Oli and she was crying as much as Athena. Then the fall locked the front wheel which made pushing the stroller quite challenging. I couldn't remember how to unlock the wheel but when we got to the car I realized it wouldn't fit unless the wheel was unlocked. I called my friend with the same stroller but she didn't know. Then I dialed Chris and as it was ringing I figured it out, I was trying to turn the peg, but I just needed to pull. So, once I calmed down all was well. We made it home and I made some wacky carrot-applesauce muffins. Making muffins always makes me feel good!

Gosh, that was quite an afternoon there... sounds a bit scary at the end!! Glad everything turned out all right in the end.

i love the photos of the flowers & the cutie pie. Such a face!

i've not been to the flower fields yet. Can you believe it? 28 years here and still have yet to go!
