Running is hard
I went "running" today for the first time since I got pg with R. (if you do the math that means is has been 13 months) Wow, it is really hard. I don't know if you could even call what I was doing running, but it felt something like that. Thanks to google pedometer, I know I went 1.86 miles, maybe ran about 1/2 that (all the downhill and some of the flat). My legs really hurt, but my lungs felt good. I'll keep you posted on my running developments. Chris is running 8-10 miles these days, training for his 1/2 marathon next month. I don't know if I'll ever do that, but I'd like to be able to do 3-5 miles like I once did. Wish me luck! Oh, and I went running kid free, which makes a big difference. No stroller, no crying, no I'm hungry, just me and the road.

Hey, if you ever want a running partner (i'm dedicated but kinda slow, too) shoot me an e-mail... kbperes at hot mail dot com
Keep up the great work pounding the pavement... tho i like to stick to trails and grass whenever possible.
And believe me, even though i've been running for 26 years, i know it is work!
Oh google pedometer!?! I didn't know about this feature...you mean I don't have to drive my course to find out how far I went anymore? hah! My legs can totally sympathize with yours. Running kid-free is energizing...
yeah, the google pedometer is so cool, you should try it out!
Karen:
I will let you know when I need a partner, do you run at mission trails much? I am not quite ready to make plans to "run" as I am mostly walking but maybe in a month!
i have yet to venture out into post birth running adventures. you are my inspiration!
i'll run everywhere and anywhere... i walk too :o) but like to mix it up with hiking Cowles Mountain and inline skating at Lake Murray, since they are so close to my house.
Running at the bay or beach is also very fun... kind of takes your mind off what yer doin' when you get to see Mission Bay or the ocean as you go.
Anyway, you keep it up! The active life takes work (esp. you with the kids, hard to juggle everything!) but it's worth it...
Go Sara! When I try and run I pee my pants :) I wish I was joking.
I'm lucky I guess, I can still jog, but I'm not sure if I'll ever play soccer again! The peeing stuff sucks, I guess that is what we get for having 10+ pound babies? They are awesome kids though!
